Research Assistants

Cathrina Saint-Hubert

Richard Montero

I am a graduate from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. I am also a current member of the prestigious society Psi Chi (International Honor Society in Psychology). I am currently working as an RBT (Register Behavior Technician) where I practice a type of therapy called ABA, to individuals with developmental disabilities like ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). I am now part of the team of research assistants that form the MUTT Lab, in where I hope I gain research and clinical experience in mental health to strengthen my application for graduate school and hopefully get accepted into a clinical psychology program. I was born in Cuba but came to Miami when I was 11years old. In my free time I enjoy watching soccer and being with my family and friends.

My name is Cathrina Saint-Hubert, and I am a 22-year-old FIU postgraduate, with a BA in psychology. I currently am a senior research assistant here in the MUTT Lab, and my primary role is to assist in the YESS and SMILE projects. I also work as a Registered Behavioral Technicial (RBT), working with kids with Autism under careful supervision of a BCBA. With both the clinical and research experience I am gaining, I hope to eventually apply to graduate school to pursue my dreams of attaining a P.hd in clinical psychology . In my free time, I enjoy drawing and taking digicam photos of nature.

Victoria Martinez

Victoria Martinez

My name is Victoria Martinez, and I am a Senior at FIU and MDC Honors College Alumna, who currently works as a Research Assistant for the SMILE project at the MUTT Lab. In my time at MDCHC, I served as president for 3 different mental health clubs, founded my own service organization, became a published poet, and directed my SGA campus’s service committee. Currently, I also work as a Coder/Data managing RA at the Infant Development Lab as well as a MRI RA for the national ABCD study. When I'm not doing research or in class, I enjoy being with my loved ones, doing fun nail designs as a small business nail technician, or rewatching the same shows on Netflix. I hope to pursue a PhD in either Clinical Psychology or Cognitive Neuroscience, and eventually publish books about the intersections between my work and life experiences.

Lisset Lopez

My name is Lisset and I am an undergraduate psychology student at FIU. I am working toward becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), with a specialized focus in supporting survivors of sexual trauma. My academic and professional interests center on how intervention and prevention can be effective for trauma survivors, especially when care is accessible, developmentally informed, and nonjudgmental. As a research assistant for the MUTT Lab, my intentions are to understand how integrating technology into mental health services can be an innovative way to enhance treatment accessibility and effectiveness.

Angelina Shi

My name is Angelina Shi and I am currently a sophomore at FIU pursuing a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience. I joined the MUTT Lab because I was drawn to the project’s focus on school-based mental health interventions. I believe it is crucial to make care accessible and focusing on school-based interventions is particularly important since many students do not have easy access to mental health care outside of school. In the future, I hope to attend OT School and become a school-based occupational therapist. In my free time, I love reading, junk journaling, and listening to music.
