Maylinn Yon
I graduated from Florida International University with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. My goals are to complete a master’s program once I am certain of the career path I would like to pursue. I joined the MUTT lab to explore more research opportunities in mental health. I was born and raised here in Miami and my family is from Cuba. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, watching shows, listening to music, and snuggling up with my cat, Dusky.
Lia Gimeno
I am currently an undergraduate here at FIU majoring in psychology. I was born in Cuba, but came very young and was raised here in Miami. I have always wanted to get involved in research. My goal is to attend graduate school to get a degree in Counseling, specifically dealing with mental health and adolescents. I have always been very passionate about this. I joined the MUTT lab to gain more research experience and to consolidate my love for psychology. If I'm not doing school things, I love to take advantage of Miami's beautiful everlasting beach weather and I love to have picnics and paint with my friends.
Elizabeth Montilla
I recently graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. I am Cuban-Venezuelan, but I was born and raised here in Miami. I joined the MUTT lab in hopes of gaining more research experience, but also to learn more about the field of mental health and the advances that are being made in it to treat children and adolescents. My goal is to attend graduate school at FIU and eventually obtain a PhD in Clinical Psychology. I am a huge animal lover, and in my free time, you can find me chilling with my basset hound, Pixie, or my leopard gecko, Mango. I also love to watch nature and true crime documentaries, shop, and spend time with my friends and family.
Cynthia Morejon
My name is Cynthia Morejon, I am a 26-year-old undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s in psychology with a Track in Experimental Behavior Analysis. From a young age, I have been interested in mental health, most recently particularly focusing on cognitive processes relating to anxiety and depression. As an immigrant myself that came to the United States at the age of 12, I know how important it is to not only have knowledge of depression and or anxiety but having access to the necessary resources or tools that help provide these services for the youth. I have been working with the MUTT Laboratory since August of 2022 and it has been a great learning journey into the research world!
Brianni Correa
I am an undergraduate student at FIU, majoring in psychology. I was born and raised in Miami, FL but my family is from Cuba. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and love listening to music in both languages! My goal is to attend graduate school here at FIU and center my studies on Child and Adolescent Psychology and one day become a Clinical Psychologist. I joined the MUTT lab because of its focus on adolescents and their mental health, which will provide me with valuable experience I will take with me for my future career. In my free time, I love to go to the beach, paint, watch movies and shows, and spend time with the people I love.
Richard Montero
I am a graduate from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. I am also a current member of the prestigious society Psi Chi (International Honor Society in Psychology). I am currently working as an RBT (Register Behavior Technician) where I practice a type of therapy called ABA, to individuals with developmental disabilities like ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). I am now part of the team of research assistants that form the MUTT Lab, in where I hope I gain research and clinical experience in mental health to strengthen my application for graduate school and hopefully get accepted into a clinical psychology program. I was born in Cuba but came to Miami when I was 11years old. In my free time I enjoy watching soccer and being with my family and friends.

Seline Coloma
I am an FIU psychology alumni. I aspire to become a marriage and family therapist and possibly go on to get my PsyD in clinical psychology. I hope to make a positive impact on adolescents and young adults with mental disorders and provide support and guidance for families and couples. I joined the MUTT lab to gain research experience, work with adolescents experiencing mental health challenges, and grow as an individual and a future professional in the field. In my free time, I love to read, paint, sew, travel, watch films, and listen to music.
Lucia Gimenez
My name is Lucia Gimenez, and I am a 20-year-old undergraduate psychology student who is concentrating in industrial organizational psychology and minoring in business. Although my family is from Argentina and I am of Spanish descent, I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I ride horses in my free time, and I visit various South Florida coffee shops. Ultimately, I joined the MUTT lab with the intention of learning more about technology's impact on adolescents who fight with anxiety and depression. It is critical, in my opinion, to understand how effective these gadgets may be in assisting people with mental health given technology is becoming more and more widely accessible in society. To better comprehend corporate management study findings, my long-term and current goals are to obtain a PhD in I/O psychology.
